What's stored, exactly

One entry in your browser's local storage, named uct-cookie-choice. It records whether you chose "Accept" or "Essential only" on the notice, so the notice stops reappearing on every page. It holds one short word, contains nothing that identifies you, and never leaves your device.

That's the complete list of what this site puts on your machine. There is no advertising cookie, no analytics cookie, no fingerprinting and no cross-site tracking here.

Why there's a notice at all

UK law on cookies and similar technologies covers anything stored on or read from your device, including local storage, with narrow exceptions for what's strictly necessary. Rather than argue about which exception applies, we ask, then honour the answer. If you pick "Essential only", nothing changes for now — we run no measurement tools — and that choice would apply if we ever added any.

Third parties

• Google Fonts. Typefaces are requested from Google's servers when a page loads. No cookie is set by that request, but Google receives your IP address as part of it, as with any file loaded from another domain.
• Hosting. Our host keeps standard server logs of requests. Those are logs rather than cookies, and the privacy policy covers them.
• Operators. The moment you follow a link to a casino site, you're on their domain and their cookies apply — including the tracking that credits the referral to us. Their cookie policy governs that, not this one.

Clearing or changing your choice

Delete site data for ukchiptrail.com in your browser settings and the stored preference disappears, along with the notice's memory of it — you'll simply be asked again on your next visit. Every major browser also lets you block or clear cookies and local storage across all sites:

• Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies and Site data.
• Safari: Settings → Safari → Advanced → Website Data.
• Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data.
• Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions.

Blocking storage entirely won't break anything here. The notice will reappear each visit, which is a fair trade if that's your preference.
